Manasquan River Reservoir

Attention Brielle Residents

The news media is carrying a story concerning an Algae Bloom in the Manasquan River Reservoir. As a result, recreational activities such as boating and swimming are prohibited. Obviously, no one, human or pet, should drink water directly out of the reservoir.

However, the water we received from the Reservoir System is treated and during the process any algae is destroyed by ozone and the dead algae is removed with a coagulant. The process of ozone and coagulation removes any byproducts. All the water we receive is treated and made potable before it is released as drinking water.
