Clean Communities
The Clean Communities Act of 1986 establishes a funding source for clean communities programs around the State of New Jersey by placing a tax on fifteen categories of businesses that may produce litter-generating products. The Clean Communities Program Fund generates about $20 million each year and is disbursed each year to NJ municipalities, counties, state parks service, and the New Jersey Clean Communities Council, Inc.
